Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
