Trio Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.
The ceremony will be aired from 19:00 GMT.
The Football Star

A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Littler's Profile

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
